StrayOtic is what you get when Ottawa natives Mat Dubé and Yves Néron lock themselves up in a room with a ton of drums, a pile of keyboards and five o'clock shadows. As we speak, these two insomniacs are hard at work recording their debut album in StrayOtic Studios, located in crazy Chinatown. The neighbours are maniacs but it's all nothing short of inspiring. Tonight's menu calls for shrimp chips, mooncakes and some stir-fried FUNK! Over the past decade, Mat and Yves have been actively working on various musical projects ranging in style from jazz to electroacoustic, funk, rock, folk, vocal beatbox and music for theatre. While crafting their sound, an array of sequencers, drum machines, synthesizers, didgeridoos, talkboxes, drums and other wacky nick-nacks all found their way into the mix. The result is something different... something groovy... something dancy... something ffffunked rrrright out that is... StrayOtic.
